CIMPA School 2027
From Statistical Inference to Learning Methods (SILM)
March 15 - 26, 2027 | ENSGMM/UNSTIM - Abomey (Benin)
Host institution and local mathematical context
The CIMPA School 2027 will be hosted by the National Higher School of Mathematical Engineering and Modeling "École Nationale Supérieure de Génie Mathématique et Modélisation" (ENSGMM) at UNSTIM, Benin. ENSGMM is a leading institution in applied mathematics, statistical modeling, and numerical simulation, offering advanced training in areas such as stochastic modeling, statistics, and computational methods.
The school benefits from a strong local research environment, including master's and doctoral programs in mathematics and statistics, as well as collaborations with national institutions such as the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Science and Technology at Université d'Abomey-Calavi (UAC), the International Chair in Mathematical Physics and Applications (ICMPA UNESCO-Chair), the Institut de Mathématiques et de Sciences Physiques (IMSP), the École Nationale de Statistique, de Planification et de Démographie (ENSPD), and other regional centers of excellence.
Through international collaborations, the school brings together experienced instructors and researchers to support capacity building in applied mathematics, statistical inference, stochastic processes, and modern learning methods. Teaching will be delivered in French and English, ensuring accessibility for both francophone and anglophone participants.
The possible outcomes of the school
Participants will:
- Acquire solid knowledge of statistical inference, stochastic modeling, and learning methods.
- Develop practical skills through tutorials, computational exercises, and case studies.
- Build a network of regional and international collaborators.
- Strengthen local research capacity and foster collaborative projects in mathematics and statistics.
- Gain exposure to advanced mathematical methods and their applications in areas such as population dynamics, risk analysis, and applied statistics.
